Laitner Ergonomic Spoke/Slot
Wheel
Brush
Product review by Terry Freiberg
The Laitner Brush Company may not be as
well known as OXO but this Michigan-based company has been making innovative
brushes for over 150 years. Laitner is well known in the automotive aftermarket
for their line of auto body and detailing brushes sold under the "Grip-It"
trademark.
This Ergonomic Spoke/Slot
Wheel Brush
features Laitner's signature non-slip, comfort grip handle with a seven inch,
twisted wire head wrapped with soft, polypropylene bristles. Polypropylene is
resistant to petroleum, solvents, acids and detergents and is not affected by
fungus or mildews. A top rubber cap prevents the wire core from scratching brake
components.
| This brush is designed to
clean around individual spokes in wire wheels or the inside of wheel slots
that are at least 1/2 inches wide.
Detailing Tip: The narrow slot openings
in the Mercedes wheel pictured starts with a 1/2 inch opening that tapers
down to 1/4 inch. By using the side of the brush, I can clean the entire
inside of the slot. If your vehicle has deep lug nut openings, use the tip of the brush to clean the inside of
the
opening. |
 |
Note: The bristles on my brush were compressed and misshaped from
shipping. If you wet the bristles with water and let the brush dry in the
sun, the bristles will reform to a nice, round shape.
Overall brush length is 15 inches. |
